Everybody loves crispy, crunchy hush puppies. But with all the oil, they're so unhealthy! In the air fryer, you can make delicious and crispy hush puppies with a fraction of the oil!

  • 1 c 1 all-purpose flour

  • 1 c 1 cornmeal

  • 1/2 tbsp 1/2 baking powder

  • 2 tbsp 2 sugar

  • 1 tsp 1 salt

  • 1 tbsp 1 garlic powder

  • 1/3 c 1/3 buttermilk

  • 1 1 egg

  • 2-3 tbsp 2-3 chopped or grated onion

  • 2-3 tbsp 2-3 chopped green onion

  • 3 tbsp 3 unsalted butter

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cornmeal, baking powder, sugar, salt, and garlic powder
  • In another bowl, whisk in buttermilk, and lightly beaten eggs until well combined.
  • Add the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients until fully incorporated, then add grated onions and butter.
  • Preheat the Air Fryer to 400 Degrees.
  • Lightly grease the metal basket with cooking spray and arrange the hush puppies in a single layer without touching each other.
  • Set your Air Fryer to 380°F, for 4-5 minutes. Flip over carefully and cook on the other side for an additional 4 minutes, or until cooked through and crispy.
