Air Fryer Apple Crisp

Apple crisp is an essential fall dessert. The crispy streusel top, the cinnamon apple filling, all together makes for the perfect dessert to bring to any holiday gathering. This holiday season, I'm trying to make all of my recipes in the air fryer, and although traditionally made in the oven, this untraditional recipe actually turns out phenomenal! It's not much different, the air fryer works in the same way as an oven when you use a baking dish.

If you're like me and want to make everything in the air fryer these days, this apple crisp recipe is for you! It's not much different than cooking in a traditional oven, but the air fryer makes the process so much faster!

Ingredients

  • 2 2 chopped apples

  • 1 tsp 1 cinnamon

  • 1 tsp 1 lemon juice

  • 2 tbsp 2 brown sugar

  • Topping
  • 2 1/2 tbsp 2 1/2 flour

  • 2 tbsp 2 brown sugar

  • 1 pinch 1 salt

  • 3 tbsp 3 old fashioned oats

  • 2 tbsp 2 cold butter

Directions

  • Preheat air fryer to 350 degrees F. Butter a 5 inch oval baking dish.
  • Peel, core, and cut the apples into small cubes. Combine the apples with lemon juice, sugar, and cinnamon. Pour into the dish.
  • Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes. Remove the foil covering and continue cooking for 5 more minutes.
  • To make the topping, combine the flour, sugars, salt, oatmeal, and cold butter in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment. Mix on low speed until the mixture is crumbly and the butter is the size of peas. Evenly coat over the apples.
  • Place the crisp back in your air fryer uncovered for 5 more minutes.
