Air Fryer Turkey Breast

We all know turkey cooking is the most stressful part of the Thanksgiving season. That's why we at Smarter Home Cooking want to make it as easy as possible for you this year! Since I bought my first air fryer, I have absolutely fallen in love with it. Not only does my air fryer make cooking healthy meals tastier, it makes the process go by so fast! Cooking a whole turkey every year is always so time-consuming; not only does it take ages to cook, but you have to watch it and check up making sure it isn't over done or anything else has gone awry. This year, I'm making my turkey breast in the air fryer! And I want to take you along for the journey with me!

Ingredients

  • 7 lb 7 bone-in turkey breast, thawed

  • 3 tbsp 3 salted butter, softened

  • 1 1 clove garlic

  • 1 tbsp 1 chopped herbs (sage, rosemary, thyme)

  • 2 tsp 2 olive oil

  • 1 tsp 1 kosher salt

  • 1 tsp 1 ground black pepper

Directions

  • Dry turkey breast with a paper towel. Trim and prepare the breastbones, so that the turkey can fit in the air fryer basket with the drawer closed completely. Let rest at room temperature for 30 minutes.
  • While waiting for the turkey breast to thaw, place the butter in a small bowl and mash with a fork. Add the garlic and herbs and blend. Rub your seasoned butter blend all over the breast.
  • Drizzle olive oil over the breasts, then season with salt and pepper. Place skin side up in the air fryer basket. Cook for 30 minutes until the skin is golden and crispy. Remove from the air fryer and flip. Cook for another 30 to 40 minutes, until the internal temperature reads at least 160°F.
  • Remove and set it on a cutting board. Cover with foil for 5 minutes. Carve the breasts from the bones. Slice into pieces and serve.
