It's almost Valentine's Day. And everyone loves love. Cards, hearts, flowers, chocolates. Yes, please.
But instead of simply expressing love this Valentine’s Day, why not celebrate your special someone with a gift they will love for years to come? Or maybe indulge in some self-love, with a present you’ll adore
That’s why I thought I would share with you 5 kitchen items that I truly love. More like, I kitchen products I couldn’t live without. Hopefully, you’ll feel the same way.
Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer – This is a workhorse. I’m not a huge baker, but thanks to an array of attachments, I rely on my stand mixer for mashing potatoes, kneading dough for bread and pizza, whipping cream, grinding meat, shredding chicken, making pasta dough, and even blending/incorporating ingredients for things like meatloaf.
Le Creuset Dutch Oven – Oh, dutch oven, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways. Seriously, I use this pot several times a week for everything – both on the stovetop and in the oven. It’s the perfect vessel for baking bread, making stews and soups, boiling pasta, making spaghetti sauce, cooking beans, searing off meat, and so much more. If you took away all my other pots and pans, I’d be fine. But I’ll fight you for this one.
Oxo Pop Containers – These appeal to my obsession with neatness and order. Full disclosure, I went completely over the top when I decided to move all my dry goods (flour, sugars, beans, pasta, rice, coffee, etc.) as well as all my snacks and doggie items (dog food and so many treats) to these. Over time, I found certain sizes were not as useful for my needs and ended up gifting them to friends. I still have a bunch of extras because I’m always condensing. Yes, I have a problem. I suggest buying a set or two and seeing how you use them. If you need more and don’t want to buy other full sets, you can often pick up individual containers for a discounted price at stores like T.J. Maxx, Marshall’s, and Ross.

They were mismatched, dull, and a hazard to grab. That all changed when I bought a knife block of really good knives. Finally, I was an adult. I also felt like a more capable cook and certainly safer. Dull knives are more likely to result in cut fingers. A great set of knives is an investment, but they will last for decades.

Cuisinart/Keurig Coffee Maker – I love my daily jolts of java. Although I lean towards drinking cold brew coffee all year round, I also like knowing I’m able to make a single cup of hot coffee on demand. Making a quick cup of tea with the hot water function is another great feature. That flexibility makes it perfect for when I have guests. Because it’s so straightforward to use, life is easier when I have overnight visitors. I know that when I’m staying at a friend’s place, I want my coffee first thing – even if the host isn’t awake yet. And there’s nothing worse than trying to figure out an unfamiliar coffee maker or having to wait for my host to wake up. This machine makes it possible for all impatient java junkies, like me, to get their fix in seconds!
