Tepid is one of my least favorite words, especially when it comes to beverages. Tepid should only be used when describing bathwater temperatures. I want all my drinks piping hot or ice cold. Unfortunately, I don’t have a fancy fridge that makes ice. That means every darn day, I am filling ice cube trays to (barely) keep up with my massive, daily cold drink consumption.
My SmarterHomeCooking colleague, Todd, is a huge fan of the countertop ice makers. I’m always hesitant to purchase any appliance that is going to take up more valuable countertop space. But this time, he has definitely convinced me that I need a countertop ice maker. The idea of not making ice every day, having more room in my freezer, and unlimited ice whenever I want it – sign me up.
Additionally, now I won’t have to do “ice rationing” and decide between icing down my achy knee or having super-chilled iced tea. Aging can be a bummer.
